Shuman has made himself dead meat

Dear Editor,
So even before he gets started, the neophyte, Mr Lennox Shuman, has made himself dead meat by seeking to align himself with the People’s National Congress (PNC).
The PNC is bad company, has a history of riggeritis, is not to be trusted as a coalition partner, and most importantly, has no respect for the Guyana Constitution. For Shuman to be having talks about joining up with the PNC as reported, Shuman is a non-starter. At this point, he brings nothing to the table except his two long hands. He has neither been tried or tested.
Why does Mr Shuman think that because he is Amerindian that he will automatically win Amerindian votes? He is unknown, and both the PPP and PNC have reached out to the Amerindians with many goodies and have longer associations with the Amerindian communities. Both the PPP and PNC, over the years, have reached out to this demographic with solar panels, four-wheelers, etc. Shuman has not given anything and does not have anything to give but the fact that he is a fellow Amerindian. That alone is not enough to cause a massive abandonment of the PPP or PNC, nor is it necessarily a drawing card.
Mr Shuman may have an exaggerated view of his popularity, appeal, or potential influence. He is going down the same path as the AFC – which became dead meat as Mr Ramjattan said it would be if they joined up with the PNC.
So, at this point, Mr Shuman devalues his party as a third force potential, now that voters have seen that he is trending towards the PNC.

Sincerely,
Jerry Singh
