Fifty-nine-year-old Elvis Smith of S Freeman Street, Georgetown, and also of Silver Hill, Linden-Soesdyke Highway was last Wednesday fined $7500 for the offence of driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI).
He pleaded guilty when the charge was read to him by Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.
The facts stated that on October 3, 2018, at Crabwood Street, Mackenzie, Linden, Smith drove motor car PRR 5038 while his breath alcohol level was 100 micrograms.
The first-time traffic offender apologised to the court before paying his $7500 fine.
