Sinclair century sets up big win for Rose Hall

Kevin Sinclair’s century led Rose Hall Town Bakewell to a massive 177-run win over Tamarind Root Cricket Club when the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Second Division Cricket Tournament continued this week.
Played at the at the Hampshire Cricket Ground, Rose Hall Town Bakewell amassed 287-5 from their reduced 35-over-per-side thanks to their captain who cracked 127 from 82 balls with 16 fours and four sixes. He shared a record opening stand of 168 with Junior Sinclair who scored 66.

The bowling for Tamarind Root was led by skipper Brandon Prashad who bagged 3-61 with R. Deonarine snapping up 2- 41. Needing 288 from 35 overs, Tamarind Root who had earlier defeated Chesney and power house Albion in the Second Division Tournament were never in the hunt, succumbing for 110-10 in 25 overs.
Tamarind Root Opener Ricardo Ramsammy (03) was bowled by Kevin Sinclair (2-18) while Brandon Prashad (00) was sent packing by national U19 all-rounder Kevlon Anderson (2-12) to leave the home team 6 for 3 in the third over.
Only S. Joseph 23, Michael Ramdihal 15 and Krishna Gowkarran 17 reached double figures as left-arm spinner Keith Simpson bagged 3-16 to go along with the two each for the Sinclair’s and Anderson.
The Rose Hall Town Bakewell side has over the years won six Berbice Second Division Championships, the most in Berbice and has been runners-up on four occasions, losing by three runs to Tucber Park in the finals of the last tournament.
