Sinclair misses out again as Harpy Eagles stick to core players

Discarded West Indies all-rounder Kevin Sinclair continues to be ignored by the nation’s selectors for Guyana Harpy Eagles (GHE) selection.
The Harpy Eagles announced their squad for the upcoming Regional Four-Day tournament and the squad features familiar faces, with Zeynul Ramsammy being the only uncapped First-Class player.
Fans across social media were left surprised at Sinclair’s non-selection as the missive by the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) gave no explanation on Sinclair’s non-selection.

Kevin Sinclair misses out on national selection again

Less than six months ago, Sinclair was left out of the Guyana Super50 team, and selector Ramnaresh Sarwan kept his cards close to his chest as it relates to the Sinclair non-selection.
“I don’t want to dive into too much detail, but I think what we’re doing with Kevin now, in terms of not being selected, will be better for him rather than picking him right away,” Sarwan explained back in November.
“There were things going on that he needed to address, like appreciating his teammates and the game a lot more. Hopefully, this experience will make him better.”
Guyana, the defending champions, will begin their title defence against the Windward Islands Volcanoes from April 12 to April 15 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
The GHE squad reads: Tevin Imlach (Captain); Matthew Nandu (Vice Captain); Tagenarine Chanderpaul; Raymond Perez; Kevlon Anderson; Kemol Savory; Keemo Paul; Gudakesh Motie; Veerasammy Permaul; Richie Looknauth; Nial Smith; Isai Thorne and Zeynul Ramsammy.
The team’s reserves include: Shamar Joseph, Junior Sinclair, Sylus Tyndall, Jonathan Van Lange, Thaddeus Lovell, Antony Adams, and Mavendra Dindyal.
The GCB noted that pacer Shamar Joseph will join the squad from round two following his approved rest by CWI.
