Playing against Tutorial High School, Singh the vice-captain of his school team contributed with both bat and ball and was outstanding in the field especially on the long off boundary where he saved his team some runs and took a brilliant diving catch running in a few yards. Singh’s performance along with excellent bowling from Ashmead Nedd and Dwaine Dick, both national players led their school to victory by 53 runs.
Batting first, Sachin top scored with 52 in his school’s total of 149 all out in 29 overs. The talented left handed batsman accounted for four fours and a six as he received support from his skipper Nedd, who struck a brisk 35 inclusive of four fours and a six.
The reigning champions suffered an early set back after being inserted as Lester Cupidore was removed lbw by Osapha Cupidore with the score on 1-1.
However, Garrick Persaud joined Singh and the pair added 62 runs for the second wicket before the former departed for 17. In came Nedd, who formed a solid third wicket union with Singh to add 57 runs.
After that partnership was broken Chase lost their remaining seven wickets for 29 runs compliments of outstanding bowling by Joel Spooner (3-12) and Devon Allen 2-15.
In pursuit of the target Tutorial was off to the worst possible start and never recovered as they were eventually dismissed for a paltry 76 from 14.4 overs, with Greene scoring 15.
West Indies under-15 and former national u-15 skipper Nedd led the winners bowling with figures of 4-4 while Dick claimed 4-18 and Singh bagged two scalps.
