Single father gets $50,000 bail on attempted B&E

A man, who has had several brushes with the law, has made yet another court appearance on similar accusations. Julius Branker, of Amelia’s Ward, Linden was granted ,000 bail for the attempted break and enter and larceny at the dwelling house of Patricia Haynes of Wismar, Linden.
The single father of two, who appeared in court with his hand in a sling, denied the offence and claimed that he was assaulted by Police.
“Them Police beat me up, Corporal (name provided) slap me up,” Branker told Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Wales Magistrate Court on Thursday.
In considering the accused’s pre-trial liberty, Magistrate Nurse observed that Branker had several matters before the court. Branker’s case was transferred to the Linden Magistrate’s Court where he will make his next appearance on August 21.
On one his recent spats with the law, the Amelia’s Ward resident was charged with break and enter and larceny, at the dwelling house of Deanna Emanuel and Marquita DeSouza of Amelia’s Ward. This alleged theft had occurred in March 2017. He had pleaded not guilty and had been remanded to prison until April this year but was granted bail at a subsequent hearing.
