Sizzling quarter-final action anticipated tonight

Initially scheduled for last Wednesday, but postponed due to the inclement weather, the exciting Turbo Energy Drink Knock-out Football tournament resumes with its quarter-finals this evening at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue.
In the night’s proceedings, Guyana Police Force Football Club (FC) will hope to dispel much of the unknown of Kuru Kuru FC and seal their semi-final spot.

For Kuru Kuru, much will be dependent on their captain, Cordel Johnson, and the promising Omarion Savoury, to spring any surprises against Police when their clash gets underway from 18:30h.
In the second match of the night, which is slated to commence at 21:000h, Grove Hi-Tech will be licking their lips against an inexperienced Pele unit.
Many stalwarts of the Pele FC are more of the past and their young brigade have managed to perform credibly, but this East Bank unit could be too much to withstand.
The likes of Darrhan Persaud and Akosi Jarvis will lead Pele’s offensive line, while the youthful exuberance of Lloyd Anderson and company will hope to keep the backline from being breached.
For Grove, their attacking options come from a long list led by Domini Garnett, Joel Dick and Lloyd Mathews.
Action will then resume on Thursday with Pouderoyen and Mahaica Determinators, after which Silver Shattas battle Camptown.
Teams are hunting a championship purse of $500,000, while the runners-up will receive $250,000. The third place team will receive $125,000, and fourth place finisher will have to settle for $75,000.
