Soesdyke Falcons, Herstelling Raiders advance to EBFA playoff semi-finals

Soesdyke Falcons and Herstelling Raiders advanced to the semi-final stage of the East Bank Football Association (EBFA) Elite League Playoff Qualifiers following Wednesday evening’s action at the National Training Centre (NTC), Providence, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
Herstelling Raiders progressed via walkover after Friendship Football Club failed to show up for their scheduled encounter.
In the other fixture of the evening, Soesdyke Falcons defeated Mocha Spartans 3-1 to book their place in the final four.
Soesdyke struck first in the 17th minute through Shakum Billison before Terrence Glasgow doubled the advantage in the 25th minute.
Mocha Spartans responded three minutes later when Derrick Barker found the back of the net in the 28th minute to reduce the deficit to 2-1 heading into halftime.
The second half produced chances at both ends, but Glasgow eventually sealed the victory for Soesdyke Falcons with his second goal of the night in the 82nd minute.
With the results, the semi-final line-up has now been confirmed for Friday evening at the NTC.
Soesdyke Falcons will face Swan United from 18:30h, while Timehri United and Herstelling Raiders are scheduled to clash from 21:00h.
