Soesdyke man found with illegal gun, ammo

Police have arrested a 23-year-old man after an illegal firearm was found in his possession on Thursday.
The discovery was made at around 08:30h at Bonking Road, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.

Police said they found a .38 revolver with one live round of ammunition following an intelligence-led operation, which was conducted at Bonking Road, Soesdyke-Linden Highway. As a result, he was told of the allegation, cautioned and arrested.
The suspect was later escorted to his residence where a search was conducted on his premises which unearthed one round of 9mm ammunition.
He remains in custody as further investigations continue.
