General Manager of Sol Guyana Inc, Liz Wyatt, stated that Sol is pleased to deliver on its promise to keep Guyana on the cutting edge of advances in high-performance lubricant technology. “The new Helix Ultra with PurePlus technology will give motorists in Guyana access to Shell’s latest and most advanced motor oil designed to deliver an exciting range of key benefits which meet the needs of modern engines,” she stated.
The new motor oil line introduces a new way of producing base oils from natural gas. The gas to liquid technology process converts natural gas into crystal-clear base oil with virtually none of the impurities found in crude oil.
“This launch marks the culmination of 40 years of research in gas-to-liquid technology at Shell lubricants technology centres worldwide,” Commercial and Lubricants Manager Ayanna Watson disclosed. She went on to note that the lubricant offers new viscosity grades that can provide engine protection in extreme conditions.
Shell PurePlus Technology also works in combination with Active Cleansing Technology to produce a premium lubricant which under tests demonstrated the highest attainable levels of cleansing and protection, keeping engines closer to factory clean than any other available option. In addition to providing superior protection against the build-up of engine deposits and sludge, Shell PurePlus Technology has also been shown to contribute positively to fuel savings. The product has received approvals from several leading vehicle and engine manufacturers including Ferrari and Maserati. Shell Helix motor oils are distributed in Guyana by Sol Guyana Inc.
