Ranks of the Guyana Police Force on Sunday arrested a Sophia, Greater Georgetown couple following the discovery of an unlicensed gun and ammunition along with a quantity of cannabis. 
The Police, acting upon information received, went to a house at E Field, South Sophia, sometime around 22:30h on Friday.
They subsequently carried out a search of the premises, and discovered an unlicensed 9mm Wesson Pistol along with three live matching rounds. The ranks also found 12 grams of suspected cannabis at the home.
A 33-year-old mason and his 32-year-old spouse were arrested and taken into custody where they were currently assisting with further investigation.
