A two-vehicle collision along Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, early Saturday has left the driver of the motorcar dead. The deceased has been identified as Damion Barlow, 33, from Sophia, Greater Georgetown, who was charged with the abduction of Joshua David, also called “Bricks”, along Main Street, Georgetown, in 2024. Based on reports received, Barlow was reportedly driving at a fast rate of speed when he lost control of his motorcar, causing it to skid over the median and crash into a stationary motor lorry.
As a result of the collision, Barlow had to be pulled from the wreckage and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical technicians (EMTs) who were summoned. In September 2024, Barlow and six other men – Alpha Poole; Aaron Alleyne, known as “Cats”; Wayne Barker, 34, of Laing Avenue, Georgetown; Dwayne Griffith, known as “Sheep”, 27; and Daventai Mars, 21, of Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown – were jointly charged with the abduction of David, who was taken from Main Street, Georgetown, on the night of September 26, 2024.
