Sophia men remanded for armed robbery, discharging gun, B&E
Charged with robbery under arms, Anthony Macey and Ronaldo Parris, were on Thursday arraigned before Magistrate Alisha George at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court.
Macey, called “Farhigh”, 23, of D Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown was charged separately with three counts of robbery under arms and a count of discharging a loaded firearm with intent.
Lot 614 D Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown resident, Paris, on the other hand, faced a charge of armed robbery. They both pleaded not guilty and were remanded until September 30.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Macey was charged with break and enter and larceny when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
It is alleged that between July 22 and 23 at Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, he broke into the dwelling house of Robin Willis and stole three smartphones valued at $215,000, a suitcase valued at $40,000, a television valued at $75,000, a $140,000 DVR and $500,000 cash.
Magistrate Daly refused to grant the accused bail. Police said that Macey was arrested on Tuesday during an intelligence-led operation conducted in Sophia. (G1)
