Sophia miner charged for girlfriend’s murder

A Sophia, Greater Georgetown miner who allegedly killed and buried his girlfriend in a shallow grave was on Thursday slapped with a murder charge and appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Trevor Alleyne, 27, of South Sophia, is accused of killing Patricia David between October 1 and November 15, 2018. It is also alleged that he buried her body in a shallow grave in the Eye Lash Backdam, North West District.
Alleyne was remanded to prison and was expected to make his next appearance at the Matthews Ridge Magistrate’s Court on February 5, 2019.
David went missing for several weeks before investigators found her remains in a shallow grave.
When arrested by Police, Alleyne allegedly confessed that he and David had an altercation and he beat her.
The couple later went to bed; however, the following morning, Alleyne reportedly found the woman dead. He then allegedly proceeded to bury her body in a shallow grave.
