Annual Miss Youth Ambassador Pageant, held at the National Cultural Centre on Saturday night.
Kizze McLean outshone 14 others in a keenly contested pageant, to win the coveted crown when she satisfactorily answered the question: “suggest two things she would do for school drop outs in the country.” Her positive and flawless response was, provide counselling for them, and make easy educational access for them in the future.
Although being the shortest of the lot, McLean got the judges nod for best evening gown, a purple laced garment which she displayed with much grace and confidence.
The girls appeared in five segments: introduction, office wear, talent, sportswear, and evening wear. The top five are fourth runner-up Iesha Goodridge, third runner-up Danielle Hardy, second runner-up Shania Malore and first runner-up Marissa Musa.
The occasion was piloted by well-known reporter Mondel Smith.
In attendance were First Lady Sandra Granger, Public Security Minister Khemraj Ramjattan and his wife Sita, who assisted in the distribution of prizes.
