Corona Futsal Tournament
Sparta Boss will hope they can quickly dust off the heart breaking 3-4 defeat they suffered to Tiger Bay on the opening night of the Corona Futsal Tournament and bounce back to secure their first points when play continues this evening at the National Gymnasium.
Sparta clash with Mocha who edged ahead of Plaisance 5-4, so the likes of Jeremy Garrett, Jermin Junior and Quincy Adams know a tough task awaits them when their fixture commences at 22:20h.
The other matches of the night pits Alexander Village and Broad Street in the curtain raiser from 19:00h with the latter coming off heavy 3-6 loss to Back Circle.
From 19:50h Xtreme Campbellville will suit up against New Market Street followed by Tiger Bay and Plaisance from 20:40h. North East La Penitence then meet California Square from 21:30h and the final match of the night will be Old Skool Ballers and Future stars from 23:15h.
The lucrative tournament sees the winning purse being $600,000 and the championship trophy. Second to fourth will take home $300,000, $150,000 and $75,000 along with the corresponding accolades.
More so, with teams being split into six groups of four, the battle will not be just to progress to the knock-out stages but cop the group prizes; $40,000 for first place team, $30,000, $20,000 and $10,000 will be awarded to second to fourth-place group teams.
The next match day is March 6 and fans will be reminded a Hero Motorcycle will be awarded to a lucky spectator and the Most Valuable Player at the grand finals on Easter Saturday, March 31.
