Sparta lose, Future Stars win on eventful night

It was all action with 9 closely contested games on Tuesday night at the Cultural Center Tarmac, none more exciting than Sparta Boss versus Gaza Squad.
It was end to end action with Gaza Squad pressing high in their hunt for goals; however Sparta Boss soaked up the pressure nicely and countered at any possible opening. Despite both teams playing attacking football either side was unable to score after normal time and extra time. It was here that the real action unraveled with Gaza Squad holding their nerve to win 4-3 on sudden death penalty kicks to the joy of the packed crowd.

Futsal juggernaut Future Stars easily dispatched of Alexander Village by a 3-1 margin to establish themselves as further favourites for the Georgetown Zone.
Jamal Cozier opened the scoring in the eighth minute but that would be the last action in the first half as it would take two second half goals from Akeemo Anthony and Jermaine Junior to cement their victory. Anthony netted in the 14th while Junior’s goal came in the 16th minute. Grabbing a consolation goal for Alexander Village was Shem Porter in the 15th minute.
Earlier in the night Tucville suffered an upset as Bent Street needled them; it only took a Sheldon Profit goal in the third minute to give Bent Street the victory.
Albouystown-A needed penalty kicks to see of GTI Ballers after they drew 1-1 at the end of regulation time. Lennox Cort equalized for Albouystown in the seventh minute immediately after Trevon Callendar had scored for GTI.
Leopold Street needled Bad-A-Yard courtesy of an Orandell Williams strike in the fourth minute. Meanwhile Rising Stars thrashed Back Circle scoring four goals while they also had an own goal which meant the game ended at 4-1. The scorers for Rising Stars was Daniel Ross (Guinness Goal- 2), Raheim Augustus and Nikkel Carter.
Queen Street Tigerbay beat Broad Street on penalties while North East La Penitence also won via the same system after their scores were level at 1-1 after fulltime.
Albouystown-B lost to Trap Squad on penalty kicks after both sides failed to score in normal time.
The next round of group matched will be played tonight at the same venue from 19:00hrs.
