Sparta Boss stormed their way to a thrilling 5-2 win in the final of the GT Beer sponsored Petra Organised Futsal Tournament in the wee hours of Sunday morning at the National Gymnasium.
In front of a capacity crowd, Sparta Boss was fortunate to claim the lead in the fourth minute compliments of an own goal.
Dubbed as the second coming of the two sides as inaugural finalist, Sparta Boss were stunned in the group stages with 2-3 defeat to the spirited Back Circle unit, the former left no shoes untied and it was not long before they pushed further ahead with stylish player Gregory Richardson opening his account in the 11th minute, giving his team a 2-0 lead nine minutes before the first half closed.

They did not add another goal during the remainder of that half, but two minutes into the second half Richardson added another goal as Sparta Boss confidence of claiming the title increase.
However, four minutes later Back Circle’s Jermine Beckles lifted his team with the first of his two strikes, but Soloman Austin responded shortly after in the 29 th minute for Sparta Boss much to the disappointment of the crowd, who favoured Back Circle.
Beckles completed his brace in the 34 th minute, but Calvin Shepherd sealed the deal for the eventual champs in the 38th.
In a fierce third place clash, Sophia clinched Bent Street 7-6 to finish in the top three. The closely contested encounter was thrilling throughout with eight goals being scored in the first half as the teams went to the break tied at 4-4.
However, within the first 16 minutes in the second half, Sophia managed three goals, before their counterparts fought hard in a brilliant effort that saw them scored two goals in the last four minutes but still fell short.
The scorers in the third place playoff were, Sophia-Sheik Kamal  5’, Desmond 12’,20’, 30’, 31’, Cottow 14’ and Dickinson 36.
Bent Street-Anthony Abrams 6’, 10’, 38’ and Okenny Fraser 18’, 19’ and 40’.
Sparta Boss pocketed $400,000 and the championship trophy while Back Circle had to settle for $200,000. Sophia bagged $100,000 and $50,000 went to Bent Street. Each team was awarded trophies for their efforts as well.
