Special Constable arrested for stabbing Essequibo man with broken bottle

A Special Constable was arrested following a stabbing incident at Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) on Friday evening.
Based on reports received, on the day in question at about 20:00h, the victim, a 34-year-old porter of Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast, was at a gathering in the area when an argument broke out between him and the suspect.
This ultimately led to a physical altercation during which the Constable armed himself with a broken glass bottle and dealt the victim several stabs about his body. After committing the act, he reportedly fled the scene.
The injured man was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital, where he was treated and transferred to the Lima Regional Hospital. There, he was admitted in a stable condition.
The suspect was later contacted and arrested. Investigations are ongoing.
