“Speed Queen” coming with steam for National Race of Champions

Group One driver Sharima Khan seems to have finally added the finishing touches to her new machine and is ready to go full throttle at Sunday’s National Race of Champions being staged at the South Dakota Circuit.
Still with the Honda brand, her Pink beast is no more the Civic but rather a powerful ‘del Sol’, a design based on the Civic.
Last November, all looked well to produce a top gear performance but engine failure curtailed the weekend on the big stage. With time to grease the parts and tighten the bolts, Khan is ready to have a productive outing on the second take.
“We didn’t get to complete the project we had in mind last met since we had

engine malfunction so we threw in the stock 1600cc just to run. It was not as good as we thought it would have been so we have continued the project for this event and we had a lot of time on our hands. We basically are prepared and will be running six races and that’s better for me”, she stated in a recent interview.
Though Khan has been a delight to see in the Sports and Street Tuner categories at South Dakota, she has not taken the fight to other circuits, something she is considering in the future.
“Later we might look to improve and enter group two to start touring but for now all I can give my fans will be six races and that will be completely trilling and exciting all day”.
Number 213 will be blazing under the flagship of sponsors such as Palm Court, GuyOil, Rent-A-Tent, Bumper to Bumper and Trade Wind Tankers.
Sunday’s race meet commences at 09:00h with tickets priced at $1,000. Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club are expecting large turnout from drivers since it is the precursor for May 12-13 Caribbean Motor Racing Championship opening leg at the Jamwest Raceway in Jamaica.
