Speedfest set to ignite South Dakota Circuit on Sunday

The South Dakota Circuit will come alive on Sunday when the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) stages its Speedfest Superbike and Vitz Cup Track Day.
The event will feature two rounds of racing for motorcycles and Vitz Cup cars, with the main programme scheduled to begin at 10:00h. General admission to the venue is free, while access to the pit area will cost $3000.
Activities will begin earlier in the morning, with competitors required to arrive for registration and technical inspection between 08:00h and 09:15h. A briefing for riders and drivers will follow at 10:00h, before a transponder check at 10:25h and the opening warm-up sessions.
Qualifying and time-attack action will get underway at 11:10h. The Street Bike class will be first on the circuit, followed by the Open Class and 600cc motorcycles.

The competitive programme will begin at 12:20h with the first Street Class motorcycle race. The Open Class and 600cc competitors will take to the track at 12:40h, followed by the opening Vitz Cup race at 13:00h.
The second round will begin with the Street Class at 13:25h, while the Open Class and 600cc motorcycles will return at 13:45h. Vitz Cup Race Two is scheduled to start at 14:05.
A presentation ceremony and photo session at 14:30h will bring the day’s activities to a close.
The event will allow competitors to test their machines in a structured track-day environment while offering spectators several hours of motorcycle and motorcar action.
Speedfest is being promoted under the slogan, “No Speed Limits, No Excuses.”
