Police Constable Brown of the Traffic Headquarters at Eve Leary, Kingston, Georgetown was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) after he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding along the southern carriageway of Carifesta Avenue at about 17:00h on Friday, and it ended up in a nearby trench, causing him to sustain injuries about his body.
According to information emanating from Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) Superintendent Ramesh Ashram, the incident occurred after Constable Brown and Corporal Muhammed had refuelled at the Kitty Gas Station the motorcycles they
were driving, and were proceeding in a westerly direction along Carifesta Avenue en route to Traffic Headquarters in Kingston.
The ranks are alleging that a Route 44 minibus suddenly stopped in front of them, and Constable Brown swerved to avoid a collision. He lost control of motorcycle CJ 3377 and was thrown overboard while the motorcycle was left on the parapet. Brown was immediately rushed to the GPHC by the same minibus which had stopped in his path.
However, this publication was told by persons at the scene that the cops were racing along Carifesta Avenue when the incident occurred.
