A motorist met his demise on Sunday after he lost control of the car he was driving along the Melsha Access Road, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Dead: Omar Khan
Dead is 45-year-old Omar Khan of Better Hope, ECD.
Police stated that at the time of the accident, the now dead man was driving motor car PKK 4289 at a fast rate of speed. According to information, the car was proceeding south along the Melsa Access Road when he lost control, thus causing the vehicle to flip several times before coming to a halt in a nearby trench.
Following the accident, public-spirited citizens rushed to the scene and managed to pull Khan from the wreckage in an unconscious state. The Emergency Medical Technicians were summoned to the area and upon examination, Khan was pronounced dead.
His body was escorted to the Memorial Gardens Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem.
