A speeding Guyana Defence Force (GDF) vehicle was on Monday morning involved in an accident along the De Kinderen Public Road, West Coast Demerara (WCD).

When Guyana Times arrived on the scene, the damaged vehicle was being removed.
“The driver was speeding. He been coming around the turn, and because of the speed and the road was wet, he lost control and hit a utility pole. Right after I heard the impact, I came out, and the driver done disappear and gone,” a resident told this publication.
Right after the driver disappeared, the bus went up in flames which prompted the resident to call the Guyana Fire Service (GFS).
The owner of the fence into which the driver slammed said that she was reassured by Army Chief-of-Staff, Brigadier Patrick West that her fence and bridge, which was also damaged in the accident, would be repaired by Thursday.
