St Jules keep champions perfect on day 1

– quarter-finals kick off today

Nikasi St. Jules scored the lone goal in two matches to maintain defending champions St Angela’s Primary perfect record on the opening day of the Smalta/Ministry of Public Health Girls Pee-Wee football tournament at the Ministry of Education ground on Friday.
St. Jules scored in the 8th minute against North Georgetown Primary and in the 15th in their battle with Redeemer Primary, which on both occasions were enough to secure the 1-0 victories.

The matches that were played proved to be wholesome entertainment for the fans

Additionally, a Navia Thomas strike in the 15th and Akilia Thomas shot in the 25th minute helped West Ruimveldt to defeat F.E Pollard 2-0 while South Ruimveldt won 1-0 over Stella Maris with Shanera Barker (23rd) making the difference.
The other matches in round one saw teams winning without breaking a sweat since they were three walkovers. Tucville over Enterprise, St. Pius over Sophia and Redeemer over School of the Nations.
In round two, the first three fixtures were another string of walkers as St. Pius, Tucville and North Georgetown were the beneficiaries.
The little action saw Stella Maris winning 1-0 over F.E Pollard with Keanna Laurence piercing the net in the 25th. South Ruimveldt also hammered West Ruimveldt 3-1 as Fayon Harry netted a double via goals in the 14th and 30th. Her lone goal scoring support came from Kimberly Venerous in the 7th. Akila Smith scored for West in the 31st.
Today round three will commence from 10:00h followed by the quarter-finals. In round three action, F.E Pollard will tackle South Ruimveldt while Stella Maris will clash with West Ruimveldt followed by Enterprise versus Sophia then St. Pius will suit up against Tucville.
The final two round matches pits North Georgetown and Redeemer followed by School of the Nations and St. Angela’s. Quarter-final action is slated to kick-off from 12:00h.
