St Pius Primary will clash Sophia Primary in the girl’s final of the Nation Sports Commission (NSC) 50 Shades of games 19th Annual End of School Year Primary Schools Windball Cricket tournament at today at the National Gymnasium.
When the two schools met in the round-robin stage of the tournament, St Pius got the upper hand.
Both schools advanced to the finals after some top performances in their respective semi-final matches; St Pius claimed a five-run win
over Grahams Hall Primary while Sophia whipped St Ambrose Primary by 46 runs.
Batting first against Grahams Hall after losing the toss St Pius, chalked up 101 without loss of their allotted five oevrs, making it the second time in the tournament that the opening had put on a century partnership. Donna Lowe hit 60 (8×6) and Alecia Maynard 25.
Grahams Hall turn in the middle made 96-2, Akeilah Haynes 40, Sarah Duncan 14 and Sarena Razak 10. Bowling for St Pius, Akeisa Whyte took 2-20 in their match on Friday.
Meanwhile, Grahams Hall boys, St Pius and Sophia boys have all reached the semifinals after winning their respective matches on Friday.
Grahams Hall boys beat Winfer Gardens boys by five runs. Scores: Grahams Hall 63-6, Omari Lallbachan 20 and Joshua Grootfaam 19. Savion Small grabbed 5-20 bowling for Winfer Gardens.
Winder Gardens in reply were restricted to 58-1, with Colaun Hazelwood 17 and Savion Small hitting 15.
St Angela’s batting first against Sophia, made 58-3 with Antonio Mc Arthur 34 and Paul Grant 15. Ome Adonis took 2-6 bowling for Sophia.
In reply, Sophia reached 63-1. Marlon Tucher hit 34 and Geraine Stewart 25.
Bel Air were restricted to 45-3 playing against St Pius. Keandre Evance top scored with 24 and Zameer AllJohn 12. Christian Jupiter picked up 2 for 25 bowling for St Pius which replied with 47 without loss off 1.5 overs, Christian Jupiter 25 and Mickle Leitch 18. (Andrew Carmichael)
