Stefan Jeffrey prepped & ready for competition

Local Group Three driver Stefan Jeffrey is fully prepared to shift all gears and go full throttle of his way to the podium at Sunday’s final leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships at South Dakota.
The competition is expected to be stiff for Jeffrey since the group three competition is one which is non-stop on race day.

“Preparation for the car has been coming along nicely. It has been about a month straight we have been working on this car since I have been back. A lot of upgrades have been done to the car, air dynamics, new gear box and some other stuff which a lot of stuff that maybe not be seen psychically but a lot of work has been done. It is just now to test and hope everything runs well”.
The likes of locals Danny Persaud, Ravi Singh and Trinidadian party led by Guyanese-born Paul Vieira, Ronald Worthman are all seasoned campaigners, which according to him means he has to be consistent.
“Consistency and making sure the car is set right and is on point and that I am on point. Getting good seat time will be key to success.”
He added, “Competition is always good, you can only grow so much when you are racing against a local driver or rider, so when you start to bring in international talent it raises the bar all-round which will help grow the sport.”
The meet this year has been extended to two-days due to added activities of radicals. More so three international riders are expected to attend in addition to top regional campaigners all of which Jeffrey says augers well for the sport.
“It always great to see the growing, track prep has been going for three weeks and looks good and fans would witness a two-day good days of fantastic racing.”
Despite who comes or the power of their machines, Jeffrey plans on doing his best to defend home turf despite the country already conceding the overall title.
“Home turf for us is more fun, we will be putting up a fight, even though the Trinidadians are bringing a lot of cars, we will put up a solid fight.”
Jeffrey who will be sporting his Automotive Art sponsored Honda Civic EG also has chance of becoming the local champion since he is just 12 points behind leader Vishok Persaud on 80 points. (Akeem Greene)
