Student nurse arrested for throwing hot water on woman

A student nurse attached to the Charles Roza School of Nursing in Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) was taken into Police custody on Friday, after she threw hot water on another woman.
According to reports, the 20-year-old suspect of Wismar Housing Scheme, Linden, was taken into custody about 15:00h on Friday for injuring 19-year-old Shanyce Bynoe.
Reports are the suspect and her boyfriend were conversing at his home at Wisroc Housing Scheme, Wismar, Linden, when Bynoe, who is allegedly also in a relationship with the young man went to his home.
Guyana Times was told that the young man went to speak with the victim and the suspect, who was said to be cooking at the time, became upset. She then took the hot water from the stove and threw it on the victim. The teen was rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex (LHC) and was being treated for second-degree burns to her hands and chest.
E Division (Linden-Kwakwani) Commander Linden Lord on Friday told this newspaper that Police were in the process of reviewing the medical condition of the victim to determine the way forward. The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
