Home News Students robbed by gunmen at food shop
Several students of the South Ruimveldt Secondary School were on Friday held and gunpoint and robbed of their cash and mobile phones among other items while purchasing snacks at a nearby food shop. 
Reports are that at about 12:15h on Friday, the students walked across to the food shop located at Macaw Lane, South Ruimveldt when the two men rode up on two separate pedal cycles and entered the shop.
Upon entry, one of the men whipped out a handgun, and he brandished it at the children while his accomplice relieved the students of their cash and other valuables. The men then escaped on their pedal cycles.
Upon receiving the report of the robbery, the Police searched a house in the same street, but came up empty-handed. The Police have taken statements from the victims, who are still traumatized, and from eyewitnesses.
No arrests have been made, but Police continue their hunt for the two men.
