…Sir Leon’s deliver knock-out punch to Chase

If you were looking for football treat on Saturday then Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue was the ultimate place to be as Chase Academic Foundation and Sir Leon’s Lesson produced thriller which ended in tears and joy, depending on which side of the fence you sat.
When the dust settled, it was Sir Leon’s who went away the happier unit by edging the former three-time champions 1-0 ending their presence at the quarter-final stage of the sixth annual Milo Schools Football tournament.

Defending Champions Chase Academic Foundation (green attire) were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Sir Leon’s Lesson on Saturday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue

The man who made the difference in the cliff-hanger was Teon Forde, who converted with a powerful left-foot shot while unbalanced in the 78th.
The former champs had numerous chanced to equalize and in the first half, take the lead but they failed to convert and that was where Sir Leon’s found the loopholes.
In the earlier fixture, Buxton Youth Developers crushed Master Academy 4-0 led by Teshawn Gordon with a hat-trick. The talented forward scored in the 45th, 78th and 83rd while Shamar Scott added the earlier goal in the 27th.
Today, both teams will know their semi-final opponents as former champions Lodge Secondary clash with Pure Masters from 14:00h  then 2017 runners-up Morgan’s Learning Centre oppose Annandale Secondary at 16:00h.
The Semi-finals and final will be played on March 25 and 28 respectively.
Played under the theme “there is no excuse for violence” due to the tournament’s partnership with the Ministry of Public Health, the under-18 boys will be hoping to secure the first place prize of $500,000 which goes towards a school project.
