Home Letters Support for designated day for Indian Arrival
I write to support Mr Ravi Dev’s call for May 5 to be designated Indian Arrival Day, as it is in Trinidad. Guyana’s largest ethnic community, who have contributed immensely to the country, should be given its due. Doing so would in no way conflict with the noble “One Guyana” initiative. When people feel undervalued or underappreciated, it breeds many social problems.
