I am in vehemence with the President of the Karrau Syndicate, Mrs Judith David-Blair, who was blasphemed by Sherwyn Delano Downer in the local media on March 20 when he said, “that she as a non-resident of Karrau, is heading the Karrau Syndicate”; the fact is that the Karrau Mining Syndicate is a Bartica syndicate. Firstly Mr Downer, the reason why the syndicate wasn’t named “Bartica Mining Syndicate” is because when the President and other Executives approached the Deeds & Registry, they were informed that the word “Bartica” is redundantly used by other mining associations, so they were forced to name the syndicate after Bartica’s neighbour “Karrau”.
Secondly, the Honorable Minister Simona Broomes was never part of the formation or registration of the syndicate. If I can keenly remember, you were not present at any; and I repeat, any, of the mining meetings. I personally think that you should be penalised for “defamation of character and character assassination”. Thirdly is that Sherwyn Downer is not a resident of Karrau and if the Toashao had a problem and needs clarity he/she can contact the President of the Karrau Mining Syndicate. (And I take this opportunity to enlighten and encourage all miners to be a part of the Karrau mining syndicate). “Remember it’s not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country”.
