Suri Trading has once again batted for Albion Cricket Club with another sponsorship. This sponsorship came with significant focus on grassroots cricket, and identifying talents.
Five schools within the Lower Corentyne area battled for supremacy at the weekend in the Suri Trading/Albion Inter-Primary School Cricket Competition.
The five-over round-robin competition, organised by the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club and sponsored by Suri Trading, was played at the historic Albion Community Centre Ground, and was deemed a success.
Courtland Primary, Fyrish Primary, Cropper Primary, Albion Primary and Belvedere Primary were the participating Teams.
In the preliminary stages, the respective teams battled each other, with the top four advancing to the semi-finals.
Over the years, the competition has served as an important platform for the club to identify and attract young cricketing talent.
Albion is one of the most respectable cricket clubs in Guyana, producing a host of international talents. The likes of Gudakesh Motie and Veerasammy Permaul among others are products of the club.
