Suspected bandit nabbed during Police chase at Ogle
In light of several armed robberies being committed in ‘C’ Division, East Coast Demerara (ECD), Police, acting on intelligence gathered, were on mobile surveillance when they observed four members of a suspected gang riding along the Plaisance Railway Embankment on two motorcycles.

The ranks closed in on the men in an attempt to intercept them, after it was suspected from their actions that they were about to rob a female who was standing on the roadway, but the suspects drove away and the Police gave chase.
The Police have said the two pairs of suspects went in separate directions on their motorcycles, but the ranks continued behind one of the pairs along the Ogle Airport Road.
During that chase, the pillion rider reportedly discharged rounds at the Police, who returned fire. The two suspects then abandoned the motorcycle and started to run. However, one of them was arrested while the other managed to evade Police ranks. The motorcycle was also seized as investigations continue.
