Home News Suspects in wedding house shooting surrender
Two suspects who fled the scene after inflicting gunshot injury on three persons at a wedding house at Lot 89 Hampshire Village, Corentyne, East Berbice at about 00:30h on Christmas Eve Day, almost two weeks ago, have since turned themselves in to Police custody.
Identified as ‘Bara’ and ‘Rambo’, the men were accompanied by their lawyers when they surrendered to ‘B’ Division (Berbice) Police on Thursday. They remain in Police custody, and are assisting with ongoing investigations.
According to Police reports, an argument had erupted at the wedding house, during which one of the suspects drew a handgun and discharged several rounds, injuring three persons.
Those injured are Samuel Samaroo, 28, a salesman of Lot 63 Hampshire Village, who sustained a single gunshot wound to his right arm; Terry Ramsammy, 21, a labourer of the same village, who was shot thrice to his abdomen; and Nicholas Beharry, 24, of Hampshire Squatting Area, who received two gunshot wounds to his back.
One of the victims who were shot is still hospitalised, but is said to be in a stable condition.
