Swammy double-century headlines prolific weekend

The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB)/ New York Business Group Under-19 Cricket Tournament bowled off last weekend with matches across the Ancient County.
The Opening round of matches was highlighted by a superb 215 not out by Tucber Park opener Leon Swammy. Swammy’s maiden double-century featured 26 boundaries and three sixes. Centuries were also recorded by Garfield Benjamin, Alex Algu, Kevin Sinclair, Steve Deonarine, Nickel Fraser and Torend Shiwambar.

The tournament, sponsored by a group of New York-based Guyanese businessmen, is one of several junior cricket tournaments being organised by the Berbice Cricket Board for 2018. The sponsorship for the tournament was organised by Mr. Orvin Mangru of the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club.
