The Berbice Table Tennis Sub- Association has been resurrected, and weekly sessions are being held at the New Amsterdam Prison Officers Sports Club in Penitentiary Walk.
Sessions are being held from 17:30h to 22:00h during the week, and from 10:00h to 20:00h on Saturday. All former and current players are invited to attend.
Over the past days, some 25 persons have attended these sessions, and immense focus is being placed on novices, juniors and females.
This programme has been given the blessings of the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) from whom racquets, balls and nets have been donated. The coordinator of this event is Region 6 Sports Officer Mr Godwyn Allicock.
National Coach Linden Johnson is expected to grace the event with his presence on Saturday, December 21.
A Berbice Open tournament is tentatively set for January 2020.
