Tassarama for May 5 @ Diamond Tarmac

After a successful edition of Tassarama in 2017, the event returns to the Diamond Tarmac on May 5, with at least 10 tassa groups participating. The event is hosted to commemorate the 180th anniversary of the arrival of East Indians to Guyana.
The groups are from the East Bank, East Coast, West Bank and West Coast of Demerara with at least one group from West Berbice. They all will be competing for over $500,000 in cash prizes and trophies. The event is organised by RB Dubraj Production.
This event promises to be very entertaining, with a packed cultural show that will see live performances by the Caribbean Hotshots Band led by Dharmendra Gobin and Rajesh Dubraj.
In addition, there will be several dance pieces by members of various dance troupes but the main attraction will be the tassa drumming competition.
However, persons can also enjoy Indian delicacies in abundance and partake in the mehendi designing camp as well as feast their eyes and dig into their wallets and purses at the extravagant exhibition and costume sale.
The kids will not be left out as there will be lots of games to keep them occupied. Action starts at 16:00h and admission to the event is absolutely free.
