Home News Taxi driver hospitalised following 2-vehicle collision
One man is now nursing a broken left rib following a two-vehicle collision along the Houston Public Road, Greater Georgetown, on Saturday. The injured man is Collis James, 40, of Goed Intent, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
Police stated that at about 05:00h on Saturday, a taxi bearing registration number HC 1391 driven by James was proceeding south along the Houston Public Road at a fast rate of speed.
It is alleged that he lost control of the car and collided with a concrete median after which he collided with a minibus with plates BJJ 9051 driven by 54-year-old man of Kaneville, East Bank Demerara (EBD), which was driving in the opposite direction.
As a result of the collision, drivers and passengers received injuries about their bodies and were taken to Georgetown Public Hospital where they were treated.
James suffered a broken left rib and was admitted a patient while the others were sent away. The GPF has since launched an investigation into the accident.
