Team Mohamed’s bikers dominate at ENet’s “Clash of Champions”
– Vishok Persaud most dominant Group 4 driver
The highlight of the final leg of the Caribbean “Clash of Champions” at the South Dakota Circuit on Sunday was definitely the dominant performance of Team Mohamed’s bikers in the Super Stock category and the final race of the day – Group 4.
The day’s event kicked off with one of the most anticipated races. Despite taking the top spots in the qualifiers on Saturday, Team Mohamed’s bikers – James Westmoreland, Lee Jackson and Daniel Linfoot –started the first race at the back of the grid.
This did not dampen their spirits. In fact, they went out to race and performed exceptionally and secured the first and second positions. The third spot was taken by Matthew Vieira.
Several other races in this category were red-flagged by officials, but in the final Super Stock race of the day, the top three podium spots were taken by Team Mohamed’s.
Coming in fourth was Matthew Vieira.
In one of the most exciting Group Four races, Persaud put on a show to take the chequered flag with his KTM X-Bow. Earlier in the day, he had his best lap time of 1:16.6s. He also secured a third-place finish.
Persaud’s performance was definitely loved by the racing fans. After he won the final race of the day, his fiercest competitor, Mark Vieira exhibited sportsmanship by congratulating him.
Mark Vieira was, in fact, named the overall champion of the Caribbean “Clash of Champions” 2023.
Also in that race, Mohan Rangasammy ran off the strip after coming off the goose neck. At the time, he was in a healthy position in the race. He also placed third in one of the races that were red-flagged after the fifth lap.
Other outstanding performers included Steven Nobrega in the Starlet Cup category; and Danny Persaud and Nyron Maraj in the Street Tuners/Sports Tuners category.
