Team Mohamed’s riders eyeing top podium spots at ‘Clash of Champions’ on Sunday

Team Mohamed’s bikers from the United Kingdom (UK) are here for Enet’s “Clash of Champions”, billed for Sunday, November 5, at the South Dakota Circuit; and they are already eying the top three podium spots.
James Westmoreland and Lee Jackson are competing for the first time in Guyana, while Dan Linfoot has ridden for Team Mohamed’s in the November race meet in 2019. During a brief interview with Guyana Times Sport, the trio declared themselves ready to take on the Guyanese riders on Sunday.
Although being here in Guyana for only a few days, they have been enjoying the humidity, and more so the new and improved race track.

Westmoreland related that this is the first time he is racing in South America, and he is extremely confident ahead of the time trials today.
He noted that the track is fast, and, without a doubt, he is looking forward to competing with the Guyanese riders.
“We just don’t want to compete, but we want to secure the top three spots in every race… We are here to compete, and we will,” he said, adding that racing conditions in the UK are completely different from those in Guyana, but he has been adjusting quite nicely.
Lee Jackson is also here for the first time. He declared that he is enjoying every bit of the South Dakota Circuit, and noted that the layout is incredible and gives the riders more time to perform at their best. As such, he is looking forward to Sunday, when the riders will have clean fun yet be competitive.
“We have been setting some lap records already, and come Sunday, I think it will get better…I am looking forward to competing with the Guyanese riders”, he declared.
Meanwhile Linfoot, who had secured podium spots back in 2019, is looking to do the same again this year. He noted that track dynamics have changed from the last time he competed, but said he is impressed with the new layout.
“Back in 2019, we did like 33s lap time on the short track, now we are doing about 1:18s on the bigger circuit… this gives us more time to attack and more corners to space out…so, yes, we are ready for race day,” he said.
With respect to the qualifying time session today, he is confident that Team Mohamed’s will have the edge. Nevertheless, the trio expressed best wishes to their competitors as they looked forward to race day.
The three bikers will come up against the Guyanese riders, including Matthew Vieira, Stephen Vieira, Kevin Persaud and others, who have already indicated that they are ready to challenge Team Mohamed’s riders.
