Tournament coordinator Esan Griffith, co-director of San Sports, said: “Tonight will be judgment (night) for several teams as they vie for the remaining berths to the elimination section. The tournament has certainly provided unpredictable results, with several newcomers challenging and beating their established counterparts. This provides a breath of fresh air to the event, and clearly highlights that skill level among the respective teams is diminishing.
“Another wonderful night of action is expected, which will continue the trend of the competition since its inception.”
Winning team of the event will pocket $600,000 and the championship trophy, while the second-placed side will collect $400,000 and the respective accolade. Third and fourth-placed units would respectively receive $200,000 and $100,000 and the corresponding trophy.
