Teen accused of killing drinking partner

A drinking spree, which turned deadly last week, saw a teenager being remanded to jail after he was charged with the capital offence of murder.
Ronell Henry, 19, of Koriabo, Barima, North West District, Region One (Barima-Waini) appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
The prosecution is contending that on February 5 at Koriabo, Barima in the North West District, he unlawfully killed Orlando Joseph, 26, using an arrow and bow.
According to Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield, Henry was in the company of his mother and others, imbibing when an argument ensued between the Henry and Joseph at about 15:30h. The prosecutor contended that the argument escalated and Henry armed himself with a bow and arrow and shot the farmer in the upper region of his body.
Joseph was taken to the Mabaruma Public Hospital where he was treated but later that day succumbed to his to his injury.
