Home News Teen allegedly disappears after using washroom
– worried aunt seeks public’s assistance to locate him
Fourteen-year-old Simeon Selby has allegedly gone missing after using a business entity’s washroom along Regent Street, Georgetown a few days ago, and his aunt is seeking the public’s assistance to locate him.
Sylvanna Selby, who related that her nephew has been living with her since he was a child, explained that she took care of him and his sister when they were younger, after their father [her brother] had died. Their mother is battling a mental illness.
The aunt, a vendor along Regent Street, explained that on Wednesday last, at about 10:30h, the young man told her that he was going to use the washroom, but he did not return. She said she left her stand and went to look for him, but that proved futile.
“When I started to enquire, I was told that his sister met him at the washroom and he went with her. But when I called her, she claimed that she did not see him, but that they talked on the phone,” the aunt explained.
The woman added that she was later informed that her nephew had been seen in a minibus heading to Linden with his 21-year-old sister. Upon receiving this news, she again called her niece, but the young woman denied seeing the young man.
The aunt explained that the young woman works in the interior, and she might have taken her brother with her – something that she is fearful of.
Sylvanna has said that since her nephew’s disappearance, a report was made to the Police, and they have promised to contact the various divisions to be on the lookout for him or the sister.
Simeon Selby had last been seen wearing a floral shirt, a pair of blue jeans, a pair of black slippers, and a pair of black socks. His aunt is asking anyone who might know of his whereabouts to make contact with her on 617-3771, or to contact the nearest Police Station.
