Teen busted with cocaine at Parika

A 17-year-old boy was arrested by Police on Thursday after 32 grams of cocaine was found in his possession.
The discovery was made at about 20:30h at the Parika Public Road, East Bank Essequibo.
It was reported that Police ranks in the region were performing foot patrol duties when they noticed the teen standing idly alongside the Parika Public Road near a gas station.
He was approached and a search was conducted on his person during which a quantity of rock-like whitish substance suspected to be cocaine was found in his right hand. This led Police to arrest him and while being cautioned, he reportedly replied “Officer is Sasha give me it fuh hold”.
On arrival at Parika Police Station, his father was summoned. The suspected cocaine was weighed in the teen’s presence and in the full view of his father and it amounted to 1.32 grams.
He is in custody pending his court appearance.
