A 19-year-old was taken before the Whim Magistrate’s Court on robbery under arms and simple larceny charges.
Charged: Roopchand Thomas
Roopchand Thomas, called “Lil Shawn”, of Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne), appeared before Magistrate Renita Singh and denied both charges.
Details of the charges stated that on May 17, he robbed a tractor operator of Port Mourant of his belongings. The court also heard that he was wanted for a simple larceny committed on Lachmanind Ramdat, a fisherman of Train Line, Berbice.
The teen was released on $60,000 for the robbery under arms charge and $40,000 for the simple larceny. He is expected to return to court on July 9.
