Teen injured after riding into path of motor car

A 14-year-old cyclist is now nursing injuries to his knee and face after he reportedly rode into the path of a moving car along the Recht-Door-Zee, West Bank Demerara (WBD), main access road on Saturday evening.
The accident reportedly occurred at about 08:00h and involved the cyclist of Second Avenue, West Minister, West Bank Demerara, and a motor car driven by a 30-year-old man of Recht-Door-Zee, WBD.
Police initial reports stated that the pedal cyclist was riding in front of the car when he suddenly made a turn and ended up in the path of the motor car thus causing a collision.
The cyclist then lost control of the bicycle and fell onto the road’s surface where he received injuries about his body.
He was picked up by the said driver and taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital. He was examined and admitted a patient.
The driver was arrested pending an investigation.
