Teen injured in Pomeroon boat collision

Police at Charity, Essequibo Coast, are currently grilling the captain of a boat which was involved in a collision at Kabakaburi, Upper Pomeroon River. 00715c00-nbclr
Reports are that at about 12:00h on December 27, Noreen Thomas, 39, of Kabakaburi, Pomeroon River and her daughter were heading home in her boat which was powered by a 15-horsepower engine when another boat collided with hers. As a result of the impact, Thomas’ 15-year-old daughter was flung from the boat and into the river. She was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where she was admitted.
The 52-year-old captain, also of Kabakaburi, was detained by Police. This newspaper understands that the man has since admitted that he caused the collision and will be charged shortly.
