Teen nabbed while attempting to break into businessman’s car
A juvenile is now in Police custody after he attempted to break into a businessman’s car on Friday.

Based on reports received, the car belongs to 44-year-old Nezam Alli – the owner of Nezam’s Grocery and General Store, located at Republic Road and King Street, New Amsterdam.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 21:30h, just after the man and his family had retired to bed.
Neighbours told this publication that they saw someone entering the businessman’s yard but first took him for a family member.
They added that after the teenager entered the yard, he began behaving strangely, after which he took out a weapon and was attempting to break into the car.
Shortly after, residents informed Alli, who then managed to apprehend the youth and placed him to sit on the parapet with his bag of tools until ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) arrived.
He was handed over to the police and taken to the Central Police Station where he is expected to be charged.
Only recently, a suspected car thief was nabbed after he attempted to hijack a Prado Sports Utility Vehicle at Garnett Street, Campbellville, Georgetown.
