A 13-year-old girl is now on life support at the Georgetown Public Hospital after she was struck down on the Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara (WBD) access road on Sunday afternoon.
Battling for her life is Nandraine Budram, of Lot 250 Parfaite Harmonie, who was struck down around 15:30h.
Reports are that the teen was riding a bicycle in the opposite direction of minibus BWW 1663 being driven by Troy Allen of Bagotville, WBD, when the accident occurred.
According to reports, the minibus was proceeding north along the eastern side of the road while the cyclist who was proceeding in the opposite direction on the said eastern side, allegedly rode across the road from east to west into the path of the bus.
Budram was subsequently hit and received injuries to her head.
She was quickly picked up and rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH), where she was treated and later transferred to Georgetown Public Hospital, where she was placed on life support.
Allen was taken into Police custody as investigations continue.
